WELCOME TO GIMP ‘24!

Pre-orientation Day is always buzzing with excitement. There’s new faces to see, eager friends to reunite with and so much to learn from Goalpha Global’s team of mentors, coaches and staff present. This year was no different; with high school graduates from numerous schools across the country gathered at the British Council, Accra. The hundreds of shortlisted applicants came prepared with supportive parents and guardians to learn what the Goalpha Intern Mentorship Programme is all about.

Like any other project, the mark of true excellence is measured by the quality of it’s outcome. To share in their unique experience with GIMP were GIMP Fellows of the 2022 cohort. These Fellows gave candid feedback on how GIMP helped play a crucial role in deciding on their career paths, choosing the right course of study in their dream universities and overall, keeping them active during their break between academic levels after WASSCE.

Did I mention that our mentors also made a lovely appearance at Pre-Orientation this year? I did! One of our very own mentors, Edna Frimpong, award-winning author and motivational speaker, gave quite the inspirational address to the prospective interns. Known for her first “big break” in the male-dominated craft of shoe-making, Ms. Frimpong gave reasons as to why networking, believing in your skills and talents and nuturing them to become productive assets was important. A lot to highlight there. Take notes, take notes.
